This page is a gathering of various things I’ve written, some as teaching aids, other as personal projects and some professionally, where NDA allowed.
They were written in various tools including Twine, Articy:Draft, Celtx, Final Draft, Word, Excel, notepad, directly-into-engines (mostly Unity) and so on.
The Darkside Detective
adventure game – modern, supernatural, black humour
The script for case 01: “Jenny go bye bye”. Read it here and play it here (after this draft we made changes directly in the game engine, so you’ll note some minor changes between the two pieces).
action platformer – fantasy, action
One of the many things that I worked on for Batcat Games/Digital Furnace’s action platformer Onikira: Demon Killer was a faux promotional comic to sell the world to the team outside of the design department, which you can read here. Other material I produced included early story outlines and world building material, such as this map, information on each region, the people who live there and their creation myths.
The People’s Republic of Terror
CRPG – fantasy, light hearted
A tongue-in-cheek CRPG quest, featuring undead politicians. Read it here.
modern, fairy tale
A fairy-tale love story between a girl and the monster that lives under her bed, told in 10 short comics. The pitch document and full script can be read here.
A planned, on-going transhumanist near-future sci-fi series, following five characters as they try to find out who killed their original bodies and all their clones bar – due to some lucky timing – one. Three of the characters had origins stories written up for them, which you can read here:
Sasha – orbital prison station brat
Dakkar – bitter uplifted octopus
Chuluun – Martian horse breaker
fantasy, fairy tale, family
A treatment for a family friendly film re-imagining the trials of Red Riding Hood and friends.
Red – film treatment
modern, horror, short film script
A short neo-noir horror piece, about making bad life choices.
Cleanse – short film
I don’t write much poetry (and share even less) but I did write this and I do enjoy it. Hopefully you will too…
